Abstract

The study area is located northeast of neyriz city and northeast of dehchah city in Fars province. Most of these units they form limestone units, sericite-chlorite schist units and amphibolite units. In this study, ASTER satellite imagery and gravimetric data were used to potentially identify promising areas of iron ore in the study area. In this investigation, we applied methods of False Color Composite (FCC), Band Ratio (BR), Principle Component Analysis (PCA) and Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM) Potential detection of four possible iron anomalies A, B, C and D were aligned northwest-southeast with the structures of the region. Using gravimetric data processing methods, bougure maps corrected, first and second degree residual, upward continuation, first order vertical derivative, analytical signal and tilt angle were prepared from the study area. The results also identified anomalies A ', B', C ', D' and E 'in the northwest-southeast. To validate these results, magnetometric data were used and about 52 samples were taken from the area and the samples were analyzed by XRD method. Finally, all identified anomalies are completely consistent with each other. The most important potential anomalies are A 'and C' and which corresponds two large iron block with a depth of more than 100 meters in the form of a strip belt in the central part of the study area and are in the same direction with the northwest-southeast slope of Sanandaj-Sirjan zone.
